ST PAULINUS PARISH - LIFE, NOT JUST EXISTENCE

JUSTICE and PEACE
What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. (James 2:14 - 17)
We hope our dormant justice and peace group will spring to life again as covid restrictions ease. In the meantime, here are some things you can get involved in...

The SVP gives financial support to children and young adults from disadvantaged backgrounds in India, enabling them to fulfil their educational potential which is key to escaping poverty. State education in India is not always free and for instance, if a parent dies, there may not be enough family income to keep the children in school. You could help a student stay in school for as little as a one-off payment of £15, which would be a significant contribution towards the cost of fees, school uniform, books or transport.
