12th November 2021:

To: St Paulinus’ Parish Family

Dear All,

As in recent years, through the organisation known as CAUSE, we are being asked to help families, who are less fortunate than ourselves. Because of the on-going aftermath of Covid, (especially with furloughing finishing and the up-lift of £20/week to Universal Credit being removed), there is greater need than ever amongst so many of our local families.

This year we have been asked to provide food and gift hampers for 15 families.

We realise that this is asking a lot but, if we share the load, we feel sure that, through your usual overwhelming generosity, we can help transform the lives of those 15 families, entrusted to our care this Christmas tide.

God Bless,
Ian & Maureen McLean

Volunteer Drivers needed in Guisborough... MAP Middlesbrough is a charity that supports asylum-seekers in Middlesbrough and, increasingly, across Redcar & Cleveland. Some of our service-users live in towns and villages in Redcar & Cleveland where they are the only household of asylum-seekers in the town. MAP provides regular weekly drop-in sessions where support and social opportunities are provided. It is however hard for the more isolated individuals to access these sessions.

We are looking for volunteers in the Guisborough area willing to use their own cars to provide lifts to MAP sessions to our service-users. The main regular session is at Redcar on Wednesday afternoons from 1.30pm to 3pm. The role will allow you to offer valuable support to some of our most isolated individuals, and will bring you into contact with a fascinating and diverse range of people from all over the world.

If you think you might enjoy this, and would like to know more about the role, please ring MAP's Project Manager Ailsa Adamson on 07970192841" Read more
